Thecover is provided with a semi-cylindrical inner surface to allow theloop of the drainage tubing to be compressed (pinched) between rollers of the mechanism and the semi-cylindrical inner surface. Claims (1) [1] 1. 2 _ A body drainage system for draining fluid from a body cavity of a patient, the body cavity being provided with an access port,wherein the system comprises - a rotatabie peristaitic pump mechanism (2) , - a housing (t i for housing at ieast a portion of the peristaiticpump mechanism, - a fiexibie tube unit (3, ß, 17) configured to be connected at anaccess port end to the patient access port, and at a coiiectionunit end to a coiiection unit (S), - a cover for covering movabie parts of the peristaitic pumpmechanism (2) - a reguiator unit configured to reguiate a rotationai speed ofthe peristaitic pump mechanism, wherein the fiexibie tube unit (3, 6, 7) is configured to form aioop suitabie to be piaced in one way oniy at peristaitic pumpmechanism making it possibie for the rotatabie peristaiticmechanism to compress a pump portion (3) of the fiexibie tubeunit (3, o, f) repeatediy such that pumping occurs in a desireddirection. _ A body drainage system according to c|aim 1 wherein the system further comprises - a cyiindricai or partiaiiy cyiindricai inner surface, wherein the ioop of the fiexibie tube unit (3, 6, Y) is configuredto be piaced in one tivay oniy at the rotatabie peristaitic pumpmechanism making it possibie for the rotatabie peristaiticmechanism to compress a pump portion (3) of the fiexibie tubeunit (3, 6, ï) repeatediy against the cyiindricai inner surface contributing to efficient pumping in the desired direction.
